Hi, today I wokeup at 7.30am and woke brother up. After that, I went to sleep until 10.30 am then woke up. I sae dad at the kitchen while mum at the living room. I did the morning ritual and washed a spoon and walked towards the living room. I sat down and switch on the television and opened the packed-food. It was Nasi Lemak. I ate hungrily at the meantime watching the old times drama show.

12.oo noon and saw the floor was so dirty and decided to sweep the house as well as mopped the floor. I was sweating and perspired like 'mad'. In the end, I finished the chores by 12.45pm. I sat down and drank couples of water. After catching my breath, I went to the room and played gameboy. That was 'my time' trendy games. I played until 1.00pm and went to bath.

After bathing, I text za,jin, sya asking them what time they going to school. Mum and me later stepped out of the house at 1.22pm and walked gingerly to the school. I saw za near the hall and went up and talked to her. All of us was a little bit sick and we later when into the hall and found ourseleves a place to sit.

Ms lai came and shift us to another side indicating 5A. Later she saked us to call the rest up. When we were outside the hall we saw all of them coming in one by one. Immediately we went back and settled down.

New start - learning compass directions

General Directions
A compass can be used in many ways, from telling which way is North to finding hidden treasure or following an unmarked path over wilderness terrain. But, you've got to take baby steps, so let's talk about how the a compass is laid out.

There are four cardinal points on a compass - North, South, East, and West. When reading a compass, and telling other people directions, you need to wipe "right" and "left" out of your vocabulary. Right and Left are relative directions and differ depending on your location and direction, but the cardinal points are constant.

The direction halfway between North and East is an intercardinal point and is called NorthEast. The other three intercardinal points are SouthEast, SouthWest, and NorthWest.

Finally, there are secondary intercardinal points halfway between each cardinal point and intercardinal point. These are North-NorthEast, East-NorthEast, East-SouthEast, South-SouthEast, ... and so on. With these directions, you can give someone a fairly good idea of what direction they need to go. We could add additional points, continueing to break each section in half over and over, but telling someone to go East-EastEastNorthEast-EastNorthEast would not be fun.

Since there IS a need for more precise directions, the circle of a compass face is split into 360 marks called degress. For rough directions, go ahead and use North or NorthWest. But, for finding your way or locating destinations in the wild, use degress as you'll see in a bit.

Two Types of Compasses
We will be discussing the mountaineering compass, also called the orienteering compass. This is the type that has a needle that always points north and you need to move a dial to find directions.

You've seen compasses in cars or toy compasses - neither of these have a noticable needle and are called "Card Compasses". Actually, there is a magnetic piece like a needle, but it has a paper disk (card) glued to it or has a plastic ball around it that is free to rotate. As the vehicle turns, the card (or ball) remains fixed so the part you see changes. These are fine for general directions, but not helpful for what we want to do.

Basic Compass Reading
No matter the compass, one end of the needle always points North. On our mountaineering compasses, it is almost always the RED end, but its a good idea to test your compass before starting to use it.
If you are north of the equator, stand facing the sun around lunchtime. Whichever end of the needle points towards the sun is South and the end that points at you is North.
If you're 'down under' the North end points towards the sun and the South end points at you.

To read your compass,

Hold your compass steadily in your hand so the baseplate is level and the direction-of-travel arrow is pointing straight away from you.
Hold it about halfway between your face and waist in a comfortable arm position with your elbow bent and compass held close to your stomache.
Look down at the compass and see where the needle points.

This compass is pointing due North (also 0 degrees)

Turn your body while keeping the compass right in front of you.
Notice that as the compass rotates, the needle stays pointing the same direction.
Keep turning until the needle points East like the picture below, keeping the direction-of-travel arrow and North mark facing straight in front of you.

This compass is pointing East (90 degrees)

Important: This is a very common mistake! The compass needle is pointing towards East so I must be pointing East, right? No, no, no!
To find my direction, I must turn the compass dial until the North mark and the "Orienting Arrow" are lined up with the North end of the needle. Then I can read the heading that is at the Index Pointer spot (the butt of the direction-of-travel arrow).
Since the Orienting Arrow is usually two parallel lines on the floor of the compass housing, a good thing to memorize is:

RED IN THE SHED

Now we know we are really heading West (270 degrees)

Take a Bearing
By simply moving your compass with your body and using the N-E-S-W markings, you can get a good idea which way you are going. This is often all you need from your compass. But, you've probably noticed on your compass, there are also numbers and tiny lines. These represent the 360 degrees in a circle that surrounds you no matter where you are.

When you need to find your way from one particular place to another, you need to use these numbers to find out the bearing to that remote place. The direction you are going is called your heading. Heading and Bearing are pretty much the same thing. The image above is a heading of about 250 degress.

Using your compass, take a few bearings. Move your body until the direction-of-travel arrow points at the following items and then turn the dial until "RED is in the Shed". Then, read the bearing at the Index Pointer:

You computer screen: ____________ degrees
Your window: ____________ degrees
Your door: ____________ degrees
A lightswitch: ____________ degrees

Compass Reading Tips

Hold the compass level - if the compass is tilted, the needle will touch the clear lid and not move correctly.
Read the correct end of the needle.
Use common sense, such as knowing that if you are heading anywhere towards the sun, there's no way you can be heading north, northwest, or northeast.
RED IN THE SHED!
Keep the compass away from metal objects - even a knife, flashlight, or keychain can cause a false reading if too close to the compass.

Vivienne 1st month b'day celebration

Today is Sunday, we all woke up at 11.oopm and went to Changi Village market to have our breakfast, which suppose to be lunch already.. ^^ We called 4 plates of Nasi Lemak and 4 fish soup. It was really a fantastic meal. Their fish is very fresh and delicious. Of course, they can be compared with the TOMYAM in whampo!!! Yummy Kudos to fish!!!

Dad dropped us at Plaza Singapura as yesterday big bro bought the long seelves. One of them had a dot on the shirt itself. So we came today for an exchange. Big bro and 2 bro also take this chance to buy 2 polo t-shirt which cost about $39.oo. We also bought 2 X'mas and Floss from BreadTalk. Later, mum wanted to go to toilet. At first, we went to the first floor, however, there were a lot of people queueing. Then, we went to level 2, which was near to a baby SPA. The Baby Spa is for baby to learn to 'swim'. However, I thought it was rather a torture for them. The babies's neck was supported by the float. Imgaine how painful they feel..??!!

Then, we went to World Of The Sport store and big bro was choosing his shoes. He spotted a dark green ethnic shoes. However, the salesman said it was the last piece and he was cunning by saying why don't we buy this!!? -_-''' Who will buy something which is not new and wore umpteen times by other people??

We later board bus 7 to Bugis and went to level 2 BHG World Of The Sport. There was not much design there. In the end, we never buy the shoes. Mum sat at a place, in front of her have a lot of hat. We all tried the hat and very funny.

At about 5.15pm, dad came and went to shower. About 5.45pm he finally finshed what he was doing and dad & me went out. Dad dropped me at BLK 304 tampines st 32 - Mrs Chua house. I said goodbye to dad and went up the lift. I wanted to call mum they all. However, no signal so I swtich off the phone and switch on again.

I later went in Mrs Chua house and present her the gift from me, jing & mdm peck lu. Mdm today was unable to come as she had conference. I reached Mrs Chua house first. Later, jing called me and asked me to pick her up. I told Mrs Chua and went to the overhead bridge and waited for her for about 15 mintues. I went to check up the bus to interchange.

She called me from behind and both of us went across the bridge and walk to Mrs Chua block. Mrs Chua invited a lot of her relatives and friends of course. we do not know what to do as we know nobody.

After eating, we went to play with Valerie her first daughter. Later, there was a little girl who's parents dress her like a boy. At first, I thought she was a boy. Until, I overhead that she was a girl!! OMG!! so cute. Hope her parents do dres her like boy again.

8.oopm jing and me said goodbye to Mrs Chua and walked to the bus stop. I went crossed the bridge.

G2000

We all went to Whampo to had our breakfast. 2 bro & I ate TOMYAM!!! DAD, MUM and BIG BRO ate mian xian fish soup. Dad and mum fried fish, big bro raw fish. Later, Dad dropped 2 bro home and headed to Plaza Singapura. Mum, big bro & me went to BreadTalk and bought 2 X'mas trees and 1 floss. Later, we went to G2000 to shop brother new year clothes. We spend a lot of time there choosing. In fact, we spend our day at G2000!! Quite fun and tried too.

Before we went home and have dinner with 2 bro. We went to level 5 to eat and rest a little while. Mum ordered chinese cuisine. While big bro and I shared fruits with mum. The fruits was expensive!! 5 fruits [papaya, watermelon, pineapple, 2 kinds of wintermelon.] It cost $6.5o.

After that we walked out of PS and walked crossed one traffic light and waited there for bus 65. Mintues later, a lot of people boarded the bus. The bus uncle stopped near to us, so we manage to get up the bus first. However, there were a lot of people in the bus. Mostly, indian people. As the bus headed to little india. We were stucked at the steps and luckly someone alighted and mum sat down. Big bro and me waited at the steps as a lot of in-coming passengers boarding the bus. Soon, when we manage to get down the steps, the bus reached little india and a lot of indians alight. Big bro and me faster went up and found ourselves a place. At first, I sat near mum, big bro found two seats behind. Mum called me to sit with big bro and when I went behind, big bro asked mum to come and sit with me. He sat behind-beside us.

We all were quite tried after such long day. We arrived at the frit store and walked to the market. Mum and big bro wanted to eat the Hokkien Mee and we asked mum to find 2 bro first. So big bro and I waited there. after quite long, we finally got our food and we walked to the fish stall which 2 bro always had his dinner there. Big bro and 2 bro ate while mum and I shared the Hokkien Mee. Before I eat, I went to buy Sugar Cane. 2 bro followed behind me. We were playing while waiting for uncle as he was attending to other customers. Later, We had our drink and paid him $1.oo. We went back to our seats and enjoyed our dinner.

After that, we crossed the road and while walking home, we saw a couple quarrelling. The man in his thirties screamed and shouted loudly to his girlfriend in her thirties too. The girl saw us turning and looked at them. When I turned back again, I saw the girl leave and so did the man. I then walked backwards and 2 bro said I busybody.

We passed through the carpark and the shelter and waited to cross the road. Mum and big bro crossed first. 2 bro and I find that it was too late for us to cross, so we did not crossed together with mum and big bro. Big bro suddenly turned back and it scared us. The on-coming bus seemed to travel very fast.

After crossing the shelter, I requested brothers to carry me. Later, I said carried my legs too. At first they did not comply with me. After second request, they hold my legs too. I was heavy so a while they released my legs. Our neighbour saw us from her window and she waved to us. Of course, we waved back too.

When we reached home, she opened her door and asked mum whether do she want the Calenda for 2009. Mum went in her house and we all went to wash our hands and legs. Mum came back later and closed the door. We all watched Royal Tramp.

9.oopm channel U news reported that one 28 years old female Singaporean lawyer was killed in MUMBAI. She was the first Singaporean that had killed by terrorist. It was pity and sad. Hope everything will end!!
